BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 6, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We propose with the concurrence of your Honorable Body,
to appoint a Joint Committee to consist of four members from
this House, and two from the Senate, to proceed to the city of
Baltimore, for the purpose of making a thorough investiga-
tion into the affairs and condition of the State Tobacco Ware-
houses, and to report to this General Assembly such legisla-
tion in reference thereto as may be necessary.

We have appointed on the part of the House, Messrs. Ma-
gruder, Davis of Charles, Hall and Morgan.

Which was read.

Mr. Young submitted the following message:

BY THE SENATE,

February 6, 1867.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message proposing a Joint Commit-
tee to consist of four members of your House and two from the
Senate, to proceed to the city of Baltimore, for the purpose of
making a thorough investigation into the affairs and condition
of the State Tobacco Warehouses, and to report to this Gen-
eral Assembly such legislation in reference thereto as may
be necessary.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Young and Mackall.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of
Delegates.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing bills :

A bill entitled, an Act to repeal the 27th, 28th and 29th
sections of the 2d Article of the Code of Public Local Laws,
and to enact another section in lieu thereof, relating to the
sale of spirituous liquors to the Paupers at the Alms House
in Anne Arundel county;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.
