Interrog. 7. as 7, in Schedule B. I voted for Chas. H.
Ohr for State Senator; the poles were held at the usual place
in our district, about 3 or 3| miles from the Virginia line;
I reside 12 or 13 miles from where the polls were held; says
that Dr. Ohor, did not advise any resistance in speech made
in district No 10.

1st Cross-Interrogatory by Mr. Spates.

Did you or not notify J. McGlure Mason, David S. Arnold,
Chas. O. Nethkin, Chas. Best, Jacob Shaffer, B. F. Shaffer
add John Whorral, to appear before you in 1865; when you
were register; that their cases would be diposed of; and did
they appear and confront the witnesses at the time appointed
by you; did they take the constitutional oath, or apply for
registration in 1865, were their names upon the list as quali-
fied voters, furnished you by the Register, November 6th,
1866.

Answer. We did not notify them in personj we only gave
the general notice; they did not appear; they did not apply
for registration in 1865, and did not take the constitutional
oath; I think they were upon the list.

Cross-Interrogatory by A. Spates.

The reports you speak of, that the Conservatives would
attack the polls on election day; and that Thos. J. McKaig
had advised to vote at the point of the Bayonet; or break the
ballot-box over the judges heads, and such like rumors; do you
know any thing of your own knowledge of their truth or falsity,
or did you only hear it rumored?

Answer. I only heard it rumored, I know nothing of my
own knowledge.

Cross-interrogatory 3d.

How many Conservative votes were polled, and how many
rejected in District No. 10, November 6th, 1866; 13 polled,
and 8 rejected on the ground of disloyalty, and dont remem-
ber how many on other grounds; the others could have, had
they taken the oath.

Cross-interrogatory 4th.

Have you been sued by several persons for refusing their
votes at the election on the 6th of November, 1866?

Answer. We have been sued by some 14.

Interrogatory 5th. Before whom did you qualify as Regis-
ter in 1865; and did you file a list of the qualified voters
registered by you in 1865, with the Clerk of the Circuit. Court
for Allegany county, as required by the Registry Law.
