tion of his commission as Commander-in-Chief of the Ameri-
can Forces, and the reply thereto of the Congress of the United
States, then in session at the city of Annapolis, in December,
1783; the frame containing the Address of General George
Washington, to be placed in a suitable position on the one
side, and that containing the reply thereto on the other, be-
neath the painting as it now appears in the Senate Chamber,
and placed at a suitable height so as to enable visitors to the
Senate Chamber to read said address and reply; and it is or-
dered, also, that the Key to said Painting be enlarged and
improved so as to designate distinctly, the prominent charac-
ters and groups as set forth in said painting, and that three
hundred dollars or so much thereof as may be necessary, be
appropriated for the above purposes; and it is further ordered,
that the caption to said Address and reply thereto, be as fol-
lows, viz:

Address of General George Washington, on the occasion of
his resignation of his commission as Commander-in-Chief of
the American Army, on the 23d day of December, 1783.

Reply of'Congress, (through their President, General Mif-
flin,) delivered on the occasion of the resignation of General
George Washington as Commander-in-Chief of the American
Army, on the 23d day of December, 1783.

And it is further ordered, that the Committee on Finance
be instructed to report the same, by bill or otherwise.

On motion of Mr. Bowie,

Leave was granted to Committee on Agriculture to intro-
duce a bill to prevent the spread of the disease called Glan-
ders, in this State.

On motion of Mr. Kimmel,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 9
of the Act of January Session, 1866, chapter 119, incorpora-
ting the Union Rail Road Company of Baltimore, and re-en-
acting the same with amendments, and also, to add addition-
al sections thereto.

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
a bill to incorporate the village of Church Creek, in Dorches-
ter county;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Mules from the Committee on Corporations, reported
a bill entitled an Act, to incorporate the Saint George's So-
ciety, of Baltimore;

Which was read the first time, and
On motion of Mr. Stirling,
