adjourned until Wednesday next, the 30th instant;

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered a bill enti-
tled an Act, authorizing the Trustees of the second Universal-
ist Society of the city of Baltimore, to sell a lot therein men-
tioned ;

Which was read the first time, and referred to the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

The Senate took up for consideration the bill entitled an
Act, to appropriate a sum of money to erect a monument over
the remains of Roger B. Taney, late Chief Judge of the Su-
preme Court of the United States;

Mr. Tome, submitted the follwing amendment:

Amend section 3, by striking out the name of "Greyson
Eichelberger," and insert "Charles E. Trail;"

Mr. Earle, submitted the following amendments:

Amend section 1, line 5, by inserting after the word "re-
mains," "or on some suitable site in the State House yard;"
