96 MARYLAND MANUAL.
ganizations including camps, arsenals, hospitals, and the work
done for, through or by them, are among the varied interest-
ing features that will contribute to Maryland's historical war
data.
The same elaborate detail that has been gathered from
Army sources has been duplicated in the files devoted to the
records of the Navy and of the Marine Corps, with full re-
cruiting lists, histories, rosters and photographs.
Of non-military war agencies more than 250 have been
indexed, and in themselves are of the utmost value. Mary-
land was the center of much industrial and constructive work
during that period, and the files devoted to this phase of the
"win the war" activities include records of work done along
every conceivable line and are a lasting tribute to the inde-
fatigable labor of Maryland men and women in those days
when all hearts and minds were concerned will) the great
task. The records are of public, semi-public and private
organizations.
There is also being made a splendid collection of war ex
hibits, including several hundred Liberty Loan, Red Cross,
Army, Navy and Marine Corps posters, buttons, badges, etc.,
and various other souvenirs of interest.
In each county of the State a historical committee lias
been organized to assist in compiling the war records. The
