of stock of the Union Manufacturing Company, held by the
State, and to apply tire proceeds to the liquidation of the
debts of the State.
Also, the Senate hill entitled, an Act directing the Gov-
ernor, Comptroller and Treasurer of tins State to sell the
dividend stock held and owned by this State in the Baltimore
and Ohio Railroad Company, and to apply the proceeds
thereof in part payment of the debt of tins State.
Also, the Senate hill entitled, an Act to add additional
sections to the 56th article of the Code of Public General
Laws entitled, "Licenses," prescribing certain duties to the
Sheriff of Baltimore City in relation to licenses, and repeal-
ing the Act. of January session, 1865, chapter 142, relating
to the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas;
Which were read the second time.
Also the House bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 179
and 180 of article 30 of the Code of Public General Laws,
relating to Sabbath-breaking, and to re-enact the same with
amendments;
Which was taken up for consideration on its third reading.
Mr. Soper submitted the following amendment:
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That nothing in tins Act shall be
so construed as to prohibit Barbers or Livery Stable Keepers
from the prosecution of their legitimate business between the
hours of one o'clock, A. M, and twelve, P. M., on the Lord's
(lay, known as the Sabbath.
Mr. Barron moved that the said bill be re-committed to
the committee of Whys and Means;
Which was decided in the negative.
The question Icing on the amendment submitted by Mr.
Soper;
It was decided in the affirmative.
The bill having been read the third, time, was passed by
yeas and nays, as follow:
