The said bill was then returned to the Senate.
The Speaker laid before the House a preamble, and resolu-
tions of the Loyal Union League. ;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Miller of Anno Arundel, presented the petition of
1,620, citizens,of Baltimore city, asking a repeal or modifica-
tion of the Registry Law; ,
Which was read and ordered to be printed.

Mr, McCauley, from the committee on the Judiciary, re-
ported favorably Senate bill entitled, an Act to authorize
the judge of the Orphans' Courts in the several counties who
had charge of the free school funds to pay out of any money
in their hands belonging to the present Registers of Wills,
or late Registers of Wills, under the Constitution of 1851,
for their services, a reasonable compensation in pressing and
keeping the school fund from 1851 to the .present time ;
Also, a bill entitled, an Act explanatory of the Act of
'1865, chapter 6, and 1865, chapter 194, and to impose stor-
age upon certain tobacco now exempt therefrom ;
Also, a bill entitled, an Act to make valid the official acts
of the Commissioners of Cambridge, in Dorchesres county,
and authorize an election for five Commissioners for said
town ;
Which were severally read the second time.
Mr. McCauley, from. the committee on Education, reported
favorable Senate bill entitled, an Act to establish the Mary-
land Industrial School for girls;
Which was read the second time.
On motion of Mr. McCauley,
The 'rules were suspended, and the bill, by special order
read the third time, and passed by yeas and nays as follow:
