Elder, orris & Baldwin, and others, praying the passage of a bill to prevent the desecration of the Sabbath day by closing pla- ces of traffic; Which was read and referred to the committee on Ways and Means. Mr. Stone presented a petition from 303 citizens of Charles county, praying for a repeal of the Registry Law; Mr. Mittag presented a petition from forty-four citizens, of Washington county, in favor of the repeal of the Registry Law; "Which "were read and referred to the committee on Regis- tration . Mr. Soper, from the committee on Ways and Means, to which was re-committed the bill to repeal sections 178 and 180 of the Code of Public General Laws relating to Sabbath "breaking ; Reported said bill without amendment; The said bill was then read the third time, and rejected by yeas as follow:
