Mr. Chew, submitted the following amendment:
Section 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall not ha
construed to affect any suit or proceeding now pending in any
of the courts of this State;
Decided in the affirmative.
The bill was then read the second time and ordered to
be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to amend the 2<1 section of the
Act passed on the 2-lth day of March, 1865, entitled, an Act
to provide for the registration of births, marriages and
d-t-aths; ,
Was read the second time, and ordered to ba engrossed for
a third reudig.
The bull entitled, an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
pay George W. Jefferson, Francis J. Henry and Alexander
Wolfbrd for services rendered;
Was tason ui') for consideration on its second reading.
Mr. Cook submitted the following amendment:
Amend Ly adding to the first section, "To Dennis B. M.
Dixon, clerk of the circuit court for Calvert county, thirty-
nine didlars and eighty-five cents for fees due iilm by the
State; to James Wallace the sum of one hundred dollars, for
legal services rendered the State, L y order of Governor Brad-
ford, in the case of State versus Robert Bell and others; to,
Haywiird, B;irt.lett & Co., one thousand two hundred and
sixty-four dollars and thirteen ecu Is for work done about the;
State House, by order (»f the Lieutenant Governor and tire
State Librarian;
Which was adopted.
Mr. Soper submitted the. following amendment:
Add, ".H. S. Shryock & SJ>n, fifty-nine dollrra and twenty-
five cent?;"
Which, was adopted.
The bill was then read the second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
