a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 3 of Article 93,
of the Code of Public General Laws, passed March 24, 1865,
entitled Testamentary Law to come in after section 328 of
said Article, and to re-enact the same with amendments;
Was read the second time, amended, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to repeal the second sub-section
of an Act passed on the 2d day of March, 1864, entitled, an
Act to amend the 37th Article of the Public General Laws
by repealing the 1st, 2d, 3d, 4th and 5th sections of said
Article, relating to the Competency of Witnesses;
W"" --' '* the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
'third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to prohibit the Commissioners of
the several counties of the State and the City Council of Bal-
timore from allowingextra compensation to the State's at
tornies;
Was taken up for consideration on its second reading.
Mr. Williams moved to strike out the enacting clause of
the bill;
Decided in the affirmative.
The bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 74, of article 35,
of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to United
States Senator;
Was taken up for consideration on its second reading.
On motion of Mr. Miller, of Anne Arundel,
The said bill was laid over informally.
The bill entitled, an Act to provide for repairing the old
Jail of Cecil county, or the building of a new one at the di-
rection of the county commissioners of said county;
Was read the third time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to pay John Quigley, a private
in Battery B, 1st Maryland Light Artillery, the same
amount of bounty which has been paid, under Act of 1864,
chapter 15, to other members of said battery;
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading,
