Which was read and referred to the committee on Educa-
tion.
Mr. Malone presented a memorial from fifteen registered
voters of Somerset county, for the repeal of the registration
law;
Which was real and referred to the committee on Expiring
Laws. to.
On motion of Mr. Tull,
Ordered, That the librarian be and is hereby directed to
furnish the reporters of the press on the floor of this House
with the same stationery as is furnished the members.
On motion of Mr. Bartell,
Ordered, That if Charles Bartell had been present when
the vote was taken on the resolution endorsing the message
of Governor Swann, he would have voted in the affirmative.
On motion of Mr. Harris,
Ordered, That if J. Harris had been present when the vote
was taken on the resolution endorsing the message of Gover-
nor Swann, he would have voted in the affirmative.
Mr. Soper, from the committee on Ways and Means, re-
ported favarably a senate bill entitled, an act to appropriate
a sum of money to the Union Orphan Asylum of Baltimore
city;
Which was read the second time.
Also favorably, Senate bill entitled, an Act to authorize the
Comptroller to credit Benjamin G. Fitzhugh, late clerk of the
circuit court of Frederick county, with a certain sum paid
Robert G. McPherson for services as deputy (clerk;
Which was read the second time.
Mr. Jamison, from a minority of the committee on Regis-
tration, submitted a report.
Mr. Jamison moved that said report be printed in the
Journal. .
Objection being made,
Mr. Miller, of Anne Arundel county, demanded the yeas
and nays.
The demand being sustained,
