TUESDAY, January 30, 1866.
The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Hammond.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:
Messrs. Frazier, Speaker, Agnew, Angel, Bartell, Barron,
Brown, Buhrman, Cairns, Clift, Comegys, Cook; Cronise, Cum-
mings, Darling, Dean, Eavey, Everhart Fooks, Faw-cett, Fos-
ter, Garrison, Hambleton, Harris, Hazen, Hodson, Hoffman,
Holloway, Hopkins, Jamison, Jones, Kirk, Leaverton, Lee,
Malone, Markey, McCauley, McCullough. Miller of A. A.,
Miller of Wash., Mittag, Nairne, Norris, Parker, Penning-
ton, Pilkington, Poteet, Rider, Rinehart, Roberts, Shaw,
Sherry, Smith of Allegany, Smith of Frederick, Soper, Stew-art, Tolson, Tull. Usilton, Warner, Watkins, Williams,
'Willis, Wilson, Wooden, Ziegler—64.
The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.
Mr. Angel presented a petition from John Boot and sixty-
two other citizens of Frederick and Carroll counties, praying
the passage of a law to increase the per diem of witnesses;
Which was read and referred to the committee on the Judi-
ciary.
Mr. Hopkins presented a petition from R. R. Vanderver,
James F. Stephenson, and thirty-five other citizens of Har-
ford county, for a repeal of the Registration Law;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Regis-
tration.
Mr. Wooden presented a petition from John T. Diffen-
baugh, and other citizens of Westminster, praying the Gen-
eral Assembly to extend the corporate limits Westminster;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpora-
tions.
Mr. Tull presented a petition from Shorling & Ahrens,
and eighty other shipowners and merchants of Baltimore-
city, against the alteration of the present Pilot Law;
Which was read and referred to the Baltimore city delega-
tion.
Mr. Lee presented a petition from Hugh Jenkins, and
nineteen other merchants of Baltimore, favorable to a change
in the present Pilot Law;
Which was read and referred to the Baltimore city delega-
tion.
