Also, favorably a bill entitled, an Act to appropriate a
sum of money to pay R. P. Bayly for printing extra copies
of the Constitution of Maryland, by order of the General As-
sembly, at its session of 1865;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Mittag, from a Select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to repeal the third section of Article 65,
chapter 79;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Brown, from a Select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act supplementary to an Act passed at Jan-
uary session, 1861, chapter 9-9, entitled, an Act to incorpo-
rate the town of Grantsville in Allegany county;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Mittag, from a Select committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled, an Act to require the Treasurer and Collector
of the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown to execute bond in
a certain penalty, with security to be approved as herein
specified;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Stewart, from a Select committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to prohibit the issuing of any license
for the sale of spiritous or fermented liquors within the limit
of the Fifth Election District of Howard. county; and. to pre-
vent the sale of all kinds of intoxicating drinks within the
limits of said district;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Pilkington, from the committee on Registration, re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to add an additional
section to the 69th Article of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled, "Officers;"
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Calvert submitted the following resolutions:
Resolved, That wo regard the effort, now being made in
Congress, to enlarge the powers and extend the jurisdiction
of the 'Freedmen's Bureau" to States that have not 'been in
rebellion, as an unwise interference between the employer
and employee, and an infringement upon the constitutional
rights of the States.
Resolved, That our Representatives be requested, and our
Senators instructed, to use their efforts to prevent the exten-
