report a bill entitled, an Act to repeal the third section of the
Act of 1865, chapter 67.
Also, leave to report a bill entitled, an Act to require the
Treasurer and Collector of the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town to execute certain penalties, with securities to be ap-
proved as therein specified.
Also, leave to report a bill entitled, an Act to repeal
the third section of the Act of 1865, chapter 79.
Also, leave to report a lull entitled, an Act to amend an
Act passed at January session, 1853, chapter 379.
On motion of Mr. Calvert,
Leave was granted the Prince George's delegation to re-
port a bill to require the jailor of Prince George's county to
reside in the jail.
On. motion of Mr. Hoffman,
Leave was granted the Baltimore county delegation to re-
port a bill authorizing the Commissioners of Baltimore county
to give to the Board of School Commissioners of said county
a lot for a School House on the Alms-House property,
On motion of Mr. Lee,
Leave was granted the committee on Registration to report
a bill to add additional sections to the sixty-ninth article of
the Code of Public General Laws entitled "Offices."
On motion of Mr. Robinson,
Leave was granted the committee on the Judiciary to report
a bill to change the name of Fanny Hyde Brook, of the city
of Baltimore, to that of Fanny Tabb Brewer.
Mr. Harris gave notice that on to-morrow, Thursday, he
would submit a motion to amend the Rules of the House by
instituting an additional Standing Committee, to be called a
Committee on the Resources of the State.
Mr. Willis submitted the following
RESOLUTIONS:
WHEREAS, the Legislature of Maryland, in session assembled,
feel it there duty to return thanks to Almighty God for
mercifully delivering us from the most causeless, iniquitous
and unprovoked rebellion the world has ever known; and to
Andrew Johnson, President of the United States, for wise-
ly and ably administering the affairs of this government:
1st. Therefore be it resolved, That it is with deep gratitude
to God, and with profound respect we tender our sincere
thanks to the President of the United States, as a testimony
