Mr. Fawcett presented a petition from forty-six citizens of
the fifth election district of Montgomery county praying the
passage of a law prohibiting the sale of liquor within three
and a half miles of the Church and School house, known as
Burton School house;
Which was read and referred, to the Montgomery county
delegation.
Mr. Dean presented a petition from eighty-seven citizens
of Allegany county praying the General Assembly to author-
ize the county Commissioners to aid the Wester Maryland
Railroad, by subscribing to its capital stock, or endorse its
bonds, not to exceed $500, 000;
Which, was referred to the Allegany county delegation.
The Speaker submitted to the House the testimony on he-
half.' of John E. Franklin in the contested election case of
the twelfth Judicial Circuit;
Which was read. and. referred, to the committee on Elections.
Mr. Willis presented a pitition from John Leigh and other
citizens of Huntington Creek, against the passage of an Act
to prohibit the sale of Liquor in said village;
Winch, was read and referred to the committee on the
Judiciary.
Also, a petition from John Nichols and sundry other
citizens of Caroline county, asking that W. G. Horsey, of
the 2nd, Election District, be restored, to the privilege of the
elective franchise.
Also, a petition from George M. Russum and other citi-
zens, asking a law passed to restore Peter Stack to the elec-
tive franchise.
Also, a petition from John Nichols and sundry other
citizens of Caroline county, asking that James S. Rickards
bo restored, to the privilege of the elective franchise;
Which, were read. and referred to the committee on Regis-
tration.
Also, a petition signed by James H. McKnash and other
citizens of Caroline county, asking for a lav? to authorize
Robert Patten, administrator of J. C. Blades to pay over to
John Rumble, ward of Isaac C. Blades; money due said
minor;
Which, was read and referred, to the committee on. the Ju-
diciary.
