The bill entitled, an Act to add an additional section to
the Code in relation to the pay of the County Commis-
sioners;
Which was read the second time and ordered to he en-
grossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to protect timber in Dorchester
county;
Which was read the Second time and ordered to be en-.
grossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 793, 799 and
802 of article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws relating
to the abatement of nuisances, and re-enact the same with
amendments;
Was taken up for amendment on its second reading,
Mr. Tull submitted, the following amendment;
Section I, line 9, strike out the words "of direct taxa-
tion;"
.Which was adopted.
The Speaker announced the following appointments on
committees, to supply vacancies:
Committee on Federal delations.—Mr. Roberts.
Committee on Scads and Highways.—Mr. Roberts.
Committee on Colored Population.—Mr. Roberts.
Committee on Printing.—Mr. Mittag.
The bill to prohibit the sale of liquor within three miles of
the village of Unionville;

Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to allow Daniel Castle, of T. late
Collector for Frederick county, further time to complete his
collections;
Was taken up and referred to. the committee on the Judi-
ciary.
* The bill entitled, an. Act to authorize and empower' the
Commissioners of Washington county to assume a just pro-
portion of the debt assumed by the Mayor and Council of the
town of Hagerstown, known as the McCausland debt,
