The Journal of Friday was read and approved.
Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, presented a petition from William
M. Travers and Solomon 0. Smith, of Dorchester county, pray-
ing for the restoration of the elective franchise;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Registra-
tion.
Mr. Markey presented a petition from forty-six ladies of
Unionville, Frederick county, asking for the passage of a law
prohibiting the sale of spirituous liquors in that vicinity;
Which was read and referred to the Frederick county dele-
gation.
Mr. Norris presented a petition from citizens of the fifth
election district of Carroll county, praying for the passage of
a, law to prohibit the sale of intoxicating liquors within two
miles of Freedom and Trinity churches, in said district;
Which was read and referred to the Carroll county delega-
tion.
Mr. Sherry presented a petition from one hundred and
twenty citizens of Frostburg, praying the General Assembly
of Maryland to authorize the commissioners of Allegany
county to subscribe to the stock of the Western Maryland
Railroad company;
Which was read and referred to the Allegany county dele-
gation.
Mr. Hambleton presented a petition from John A. Love and
Jacob Lewitock, in reference to a license to dredge for oysters;
Which was read and referred to the committee on Claims.
Mr. Malone presented a petition from William J. Leonard
and others; praying for the passage of a law to authorize the
improvement of Division street, in the town. of Salisbury,
Maryland;
Which was read and referred to the Somerset and Worces-
ter county delegations.
Mr. Sherry presented a petition from thirteen citizens of
Frostburg, praying the General Assembly to authorize the
county Commissioners of Allegany county to subscribe to the
capital stock of the Western Maryland Railroad company;
Which was read and referred to the Allegany county dele-
gation.
Mr. Tull presented a petition from Joseph H. Smith, of
Somerset county, praying to be restored to citizenship, signed
by Thomas S. Hodson and others;
