The said resolutions were then returned to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Harris,
Ordered, That. the Adjutant General of this State be re-
quested to furnish this House with the number of men enlisted
in the army and navy to the credit of the State of Maryland,
from the first of April, 1861, to May 26th, 1863, inclusive,
and from April 1st, 1864, to January 1st, 1865.
The bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the President and
Directors of the Baltimore and Pikesville Railroad company;
Was taken up for consideration on its second reading;
Mr. Jones submitted the following amendment;
Amend section 14, by striking out the word "fifteen" in
the 5th line, and inserting the word "ten"; and by striking
out the word "six" in the 6th line, and inserting the word
'five";
Which was adopted.
Mr. Cummins submitted the following amendment:
In section 15, 5th line, strike out the words "three times;"
Which was rejected.
Mr. Cummings submitted the following amendment:

In section 15, line 2, strike out the words "or knowingly;"
Which was adopted.
The bill was then read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.
On motion of Mr. Wooden,
Leave was granted the committee on Public Buildings to
report a bill appropriating a sum of money for the purpose of
renovating and refurnishing the Governor's room.
