MONDAY, January 15, 1866.
The House met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Hammond.
Present at the call of the roll the following members.
Messrs. Frazier, Speaker, Agnew, Angel, Barron, Brown,
Buhrman, Calvert, Cairns, Clift, Comegys, Cook, Cronise,
Cummings, Darling, Dean, Eavey, Everhart, Fooks, Fawcett,
Foster, Garrison, Hambleton, Harris, Hazen, Hodson, Hoff-
man, Holloway, Hynes, Jamison, Jones, Keefer, King, Kirk,
Leaverton, Lusby, Malone, McCauley, Miller, of Washington,
Mittag, Mules, Nairne, Norris, Parker, Pilkington, Rider,
Rinehart, Robinson, Sherry, Silver, Smith of Allegany,
Smith of Dorchester, Soper, Tolson, Tull, Usilton, Warner,
'Willis, Ziegler—58.
The Journal of Friday was read and approved.
Messrs. Wright, Cook, and Cooper, recently appointed of-
ficers of the House appeared and were qualified by the Speaker.
Mr. Buhman presented a petition from H. H. Mullen and
one hundred and fifty other citizens of Wolfsville, praying
the passage of a law to prevent the sale of intoxicating drinks
within certain described limits.
Which was read and referred to the Frederick county dele-
gation.
Mr. Robinson presented a petition from Wm. Shipley and
others, asking the ratification of the action of Charles R. Stew-
art, as commissioner in the division of certain real estate in
Anne Arundel county;
Which was read and referred to the Anne Arundel county
delegation.
Mr. Silver presented a petition from Wm. H. Dallam and
forty-seven other citizens of Harford county, relating to the
registration of voters;
Which was read and referred to the committee on the
Judiciary.
Mr. Cook presented a petition from General John R. Ken-
ly and others asking bounties to be paid to certain persons;
Which was read and referred to the committee on "Ways
end Means.
Mr. Harris submitted the following message:
