Mr. Mittag presented a petition to make valid certain be- quests from Anna Shultz, deceased, to certain persons in Washington county, named in the last will and testament of said Shultz; Which was read and referred to the Washington county delegation. Mr. Fooks presented a petition from the citizens of Wor- cester county, .praying the appropriation of sixty-two thous- and five hundred dollars for the Wicomico and Pocamoke Railroad; Which was read and referred to the committee on Ways and Means. Mr. Nairne submitted a counter memorial of John R. Franklin, in relation to the contested election for Circuit Judge of the Twelfth Judicial Circuit of Maryland; Which was read and referred to the committe on Elections. Mr Foster submited a memorial for the sale of a certain lot of ground by Aisquith street Methodist Protestant Church of Baltimore; Which was read and refered to the committee on Corpora- tions. Mr. Soper presented a petition from the Gwyns Falls Rail- road company; Which was read and referred to the committee on Corpor- ations. Mr. Mittag presented a petition from the commissioners of Washington county for an increase of per diem; Which was read and refered to the committee on Ways and Means. A communication was received from the Executive, Hon. Thomas Swann, at the hands of his private Secretary, Peter Leary, Esq., conveying the returns of the election of Messrs. J. Nelson Foster and John Barron as members from Balti-more city, and Mr. Thomas E. Mittag as a member from Washington county. Mr. Mittag presented a. petion from the commissioners of Washington county, praying anew assessment in the State; Which was read and; refered to the committee on Ways and Means.
