48 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 19,
Mr. Tome submitted the following amendment:
In line 11, section 1, strike out the words "said debts of
the State," and insert in lieu thereof, the words "defense
loan of January Session, 1865;"
Which was read and adopted.
On motion of Mr. Ohr,
The bill was recommitted to the committee on Judicial
Proceedings.
Mr. Wells, from the committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill in favor of the Rev. John Gloyd, of the Ro-
man Catholic church of Westminster, Md.
Which was read the first time; and,
On motion of Mr. Billingslea, of Carroll,
Was read the second time, three-fourths concurring; and,
Ordered to be engrossed for a third reading; and;
On motion of Mr. Wells,
Was read the third time by special order, and passed by
yeas and nays as follow:

Was read the second time.
Mr. Billingslea, of Carroll county, reported a bill relating
to assessment;
Which was read the first time; and,
Ordered to be printed, and made the order of the day for
Tuesday next, at 1 o'clock,
