1866.] OF THE SENATE. 35 Which was read the first time. Mr. Clarke, from the committee on Judicial Proceedings, reported a bill relating to recording of deeds and conveying land ; Which was read the first time, and ordered to be printed, Mr. Ohr, from the committee on Internal Improve- ments, to which was referred the bill incorporating the Washington county Railroad, Reported it without amendment; and It was read the second time. Mr. Ohr, from the select committee, reported a bill author- izing the Mayor and City Council of Cumberland to issue Bonds; Which was read the first time, and referred to the commit- tee on Internal Improvements. Mr. Eaton, from the Select committee, reported a bill in. favor of the Mutual Insurance company of Baltimore. Which was read the first time. Mr. Ohr submitted the following message : BY THE SENATE, January 17th,1866. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates: We have received your message proposing the appoint- ment of a Joint committee to visit the Government House and take an inventory of the furniture, &c., and concur therein. We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs. Ohr, Eaton and Clarke. By order, C. HARWOOD, Secretary. Which was read, assented to, and sent to the House of Delegates. The bill in favor of the Magnetic Telegraph company was read the second time and referred to the committee on Internal Improvements. The following communication was laid before the Senate : The Senators of Maryland are respectfully invited to at- tend the meeting of the Convention of School Commissioners of Maryland, to be held in the Hall of the House of Dele- gates. |
