AN ACT to incorporate Oakspring Lodge, No.
nine, of the Independent Order of Good Tem-
plars, Hageratown Washington county. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That David Zeller, B. F. Kendall,
James P. Mathews, William McKee, John F.
Thomas, A. 1. Weise, John J. Byers, Samuel L.
King, Jacob W. Barkdall, Amos Spielman M. J.
McKennon, George Chrissinger, Samuel Rous-
kulp, Charles Poffenberger, William Jones, Abra-
ham Miller, J. B. Loose, be and they are hereby
appointed Trustees of Oakspring Lodge, No. 9,
Maryland, of the Independent Order of Good
Templars, of Hagerstown, Washington county,
who are hereby made, declared and incorporated
a body politic, with succession in deed and law to
all intent and purposes connected with the institu-
tion by the name and style of Oakspring Lodge,
No. 9, Maryland, of the Independent Order of
Good Templars, by which name and title they and
their successors may sue and be sued and have a
common seal, and the same at their pleasure alter,
and be entitled to have and use all the rights,
privileges, franchises and powers incident to such
corporations. |
May hold real
estate. |
Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the said corpo-
ration shall be capable of taking and holding real
and personal estate no exceeding fifteen thousand
dollars. |
No banking
privileges. |
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corpo-
ration shall not be permitted to issue any note,
token, scrip, or other evidence of debt to be issued
as currency. |
Time of hold-
ing Elections. |
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the time of
holding annual elections for said Trustees shall be
the first Wednesday in January of each and every
year, and that the Trustees herein appointed and
hereafter elected shall have power to make such
by-laws as they may deem necessary for the regu-
lation and government of said corporation, and to
change, alter or amend them at any time, pro- |
