and to do and transact such other special or gen-
eral business as may legally pertain to the sup-
pression of horse stealing, and indemnifying its
members against loss by theft, in the said State of
Maryland, without the payment of the annual
license fee required by the provisions of the act,
entitled "an act relating to foreign corporations or
associations for insurance and their agencies in
this State, passed March eighth; eighteen hundred
and fifty-eight. |

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the day of its passage. |

AN ACT to pay Augustus Gassaway and Robert
Vinton Clayton a sum of money for services
rendered in removing, re-wrapping and re-ar-
ranging the papers and records belonging to
the office of the Clerk of the Court of Appeals
of Maryland. |

upon warrant. |
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treas-
ury be, and he is hereby directed to issue his war-
rant upon the Treasurer to pay Augustus Gassa-
way and Robert Vinton Clayton the sum of three
hundred dollars each for services rendered in re-
moving, re-wrapping and re-arranging papers and
records in the office of the Clerk of the Court of
Appeals of Maryland. |

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That tins Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage. |
