of Carroll county, be and they are hereby author-
ized to levy upon the assessable property of said
county, such sum of money as may be required to
pay the costs in the Criminal Court of said county,
in the case of the State against Harriet and Ma-
rinda Porter, and to refund to the said Harriet and
Marinda Porter, such costs as they may have al-
ready paid in said case. |

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to repeal the Act of 1862, chapter 106,
and sections one hundred and ninety-four, to
two hundred inclusive of the 30th Article of the
Code of Public General Laws, relating to the
sentence of negroes. |

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Act of eighteen hun-
dred and sixty-two, chapter one hundred and six,
and sections one hundred and ninety-four, one
hundred and ninety-five, one hundred and ninety-
six, one hundred and ninety-seven, one hundred
and ninety-eight, one hundred and ninety-nine,
and two hundred, of Article thirty of the Code of
Public General Laws, relating to the sentence of
negroes, be and the same are hereby repealed. |
