24 ACKNOWLEDGMENTS. We have received the following for the benefit of the chil- dren. The kind donors receive our warmest thanks: From the publishers of the "American," the gratuitous supply of their paper, daily; From Mrs. Isabella Brown, twenty dollars for purchasing fire works for Fourth of July; From Dr. J. J. Cohen, 1 bbl. of cakes for the children, for twenty-second of February ; From the Sabbath School Teachers, a regular supply of 350 copies of the "Child's World ;" From the publishers of the "Lutheran Observer," the gra- tuitous supply of their weekly paper ; From George Small, Esq., 6 bushels of shellbarks for the children ; From H. W. Drakeley, Esq., 200 Ibs. of poultry for Christ- mas, and 401 boxes of figs for New Year ; From Maryland Bible Society, a regular supply of Bibles for the Institution.
