1866.] OF THE SENATE. 183 Endorsed, "passed by yeas and nays with proposed amend- ments." The amendments were adopted and the bill passed by yeas and nays as follow:
Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment to the Boom Bill: Section 19, line 3, after the word "land," insert the words "or fisheries;" Which was read and adopted. The hour having arrived, the Senate proceeded to the House of Delegates agreeable to the invitation of this morning. Af- ter a time the Senate returned, and the President took the chair. Mr. Vickers submitted the following amendment to the Boom Bill: Add to the 19th section, "but no dwelling house, outhouse, yards, gardens or orchards, shall be subject to condemnation as aforesaid; Which was read and adopted. Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment: Add at the end of the 19th section, "and provided further, that. no public landing, or any place used as such shall be condemned for the use of said company, nor shall said com- pany be allowed to obstruct in any manner, any channel by which ingress to and egress from said landings are had;" Which was read and adopted. Mr. Stephenson submitted the following amendment: Section 19, line H, strike out the word "inhabitants" and insert "persons qualified to act as jurors in the Circuit Court of said county;" Which was read and adopted. |
