212 2d. Whom have you heard call Mr. Jones disloyal ? A. I don't know that I can recollect but two persons; I have heard him called so a hundred times, but can recall only two persons, two registers, James W. Hayman and Le- vin P. Hayman. Re-cross-examination: V ho were present when those remarks were made by the two Haymans? A . Mr. Jones and others were there. S ate what was said by Mr. James W. Hayman. A. He said he used to go to Mr. Jones' office, that he was always occupied in talking about the war, but that he, (Hay- mat,) couldn't say any particular thing that he, (Jones,) said, but the whole drift of his conversation was in favor of the Southern Confederacy and opposed to the general Gov- ernment. that he went several times and was so disgusted, tha lie quit going.
