The bill to authorize the Governor, Comptroller and Treas-
urer to sell the bank stock owned by the State in the Farm-
ers' Bank of Maryland, the Bank of Baltimore and other
Banks of the city of Baltimore, in the Central Bank of Fred-
erick and the Easton Bank of Maryland, to be applied to the
debt of the State;
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.
Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendment:
After the word "Baltimore," in line 11, insert, "and to
receive in payment the bonds and registered debt due and
owing at the date of the adoption of the Constitution, equal
