175 Peter Carver, a witness produced on behalf of claimant being duly sworn, answers and says: 1st. A. Thirty-four years; been a voter thirteen years, resid- ed in 1865, in district No. 6. 2d. A. I did apply; took the oath; Mr. Conner, one of the Registers, asked me if I ever wished the South to whip the North, I said no; that was all that was said to me; no charge; no witnesses. 3d. A. Did not vote, because I wasn't registered; would have voted for Franklin. 4th. Waived. Cross-examination ; To the first interrogatory. A. Yes, I was at that time. 2d. A. No, sir. 3d. A. No, sir. 4th.
