United States.
The above has been read to me and is correct.

Written and attested to by H. Page,Clerk
John W. Tull, a witness produced on behalf of claimant,
being duly sworn, answers and says:
To the first interrogatory:
A. 56 years; been a voter ;35 years: resided in 1865 in Dis-
trict No.6.
2d.
A. Did apply, notified of no charge, no witnesses, took
the oath, answered all the questions, and didn't know I was
not a voter until I saw my name was not on the published
list. On the rediew day, I went before them and asked what
the charges were against me They said "Public Repute."
I had understood that if persons carried evidence to prove
their loyalty, that. would be sufficient, and I produced Sam-
uel J. Tull, Isaac Smith Lankford, Henry J. Johnson and
Fleet J. Chelton, all registered men, who happened to be
present, who testified to my loyalty. Old man Levin Con-
nor, one of the Registers, said if I brought a dozen it would
be all the same—of no account. They still notified me of no
charge.
3d.
A. Did not vote, would have voted lor Franklin, to give
him a miller's turn.
4th. Waived.

A. Was sorry, and told the Registers so.
