Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates.
The bill directing the Governor, Comptroller and Treasurer
of this State to sell the dividend stock held and owned by this
State in the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad company, and to
apply the proceeds thereof in part payment of the debt of the
State;
Was read the second time.
Mr. Clarke submitted the following amendment;
Insert in line three, section one, after the word "sell,"
"at public auction at such times and in such sums as they
deem most advantageous to the,State's interest and;"
Which was read and adopted.
Mr. Lansdale moved to postpone the further consideration
of the bill until Saturday next;
Determined in the negative by yeas and nay as follow.
