151 A. I was willing to take the oath and answer all the questions but those which the convention in Baltimore pre- scribed . What questions were you willing to answer? A. I do not remember all now—I was willing to answer that I had not aided or assisted the South, I had had no cor- respondence with the South, harbored no blockade runners, nor seen any, and that I had not harbored any drafted men. Were you or not informed by the Officers of Registration that you were considered disloyal? A. They did not say so to me; if they did, I disremember. To the first interrogatory: A. No, sir; I don't know that I did for cither cause. 2d: A: No, sir, don't know that I did. 3d: A. No, sir; neither for nor against it. 4th: A. Yes, sir, I did; when Richmond surrendered I was glad the war was over, because they had taken enougli money from me, without the war going on longer. 5th: A. I disremember.
