Did apply; confronted with no witnesses; notified of no charge; took the oath and answered all the questions; Mr. Pusey, one of the Registers remained, I had answered more satisfactorily than any one who had been before him: 1 think it was on the second day they met for review, that I applied again, -Mr. Wilson, one of the Registers, and Mr. Mills also, a Register, only were present: I asked then; why my name was not put on the list of qualified voter,-,; they were siting then in the bar-room of' the Hotel: Mr. Milis observed, that they had better retire up stairs to their room: Iwas invited up: Mr. Wilson then said, that he had heard one My in Mr. Kennedy's store, that the Rebels were in Maryland, and I wished, they would stay here: he asked me what reason I had for saying so; I told him I might have had various reasons, but I had nothing particular then to' refresh my mind, and asked him if I expressed at the time why I had made such a wish; he said I had not, I had only made the remark; I told Mr. Wilson he was present who:'.
