120 A. Did vote, and for Franklin. 4th. Waived. Special Interrogatories: 1st. Were you or not one of the Judges of Election in the 8th district? A. I was. 2nd. Was or not a list of voters handed to you, and by whom? A. There was a list of voters handed to the Judges by John L. Porter, one of the officers of Registration. 3d. Did or not the' said Judges of Election conduct the election according to that list? And if not, how was it con- ducted? A, It was not conducted according to that list. Every man who took the oath of allegiance voted, and those who wouldn't take the oath, didn't vote. 4th. Have you the paper that was laid before you in your possession? "^' A. I have not. Mr. John S. Lankford was the Return Judge, and he has it, I think—unless he has returned it to the Clerk of the county. Cross-Examination : Have not your sympathies throughout the war been with those who were rebellion ? A. I believe so, conditionally. 1st, 2nd, and 3d cross-interrogatories waived. 4th. A.
