1st. Interrogatory. How long have you resided in Somer-
set county; have you been a voter therein, and if yea, for how
long a period, and in what election district did you reside
during the past year of 1865 ?
2d. Did you or not, apply to the persons professing to act
as officers of Registration in the district in which you reside,
for Registration as a legal and qualified voter; if yea, were
you or not notified by said persons, of any charge against
you to disqualify you for such Registration, and were you or
not, confronted with any witness or witnesses who testified
against you; did you take the oath provided by law to be
taken before the said officers of Registration, if not why not;
and if you did not apply for Registration, state your reason
why ?
3d. Did you or not vote at the election of Judge of the Twelfth
Judicial Circuit of Maryland, at the election held in the dis-
trict of your residence, on the 7th of November, 1865, and if
not, state whether or not you offered to vote; for which of the
candidates for Judge you voted, or would have voted had you
been permitted to vote ?
4th. Did you or not witness any conduct or hear any con-
versation by the persons professing to be onion's of Registra-
tion in your district or any of them, during the period of the
Registration, indicating a purpose to influence any voter or
voters, by the hope of being registered as a qualified voter,
to vote for the ticket of the political party which nominated
and supported Hon. Thomas A. Spence, as a candidate for
Circuit Judge, at the election mentioned in the third Interro-
gatory; or showing a purpose on their part to exclude from
Registration their political opponents?
