A. I don't know the precise words now, but enough to
convince me that lie was a disloyal man.
31st. Thomas J. Johnson of T, is entered disqualified,
what was proved against him?
A. I don't remember.
32nd. You are entered as the witness against him, can
you remember anything you have ever heard him say?
A. I remember the evening he was before us, of his saying
something which convinced the board but I have forgotten
what it was.
33d. Do you remember any evidence against Wm T.
King?
A. I don't remember, we had some before us.
34th. Were you called on by the board to testify to any-
thing against Jno McDaniel?
A. I don't remember, I think I was witness against him.
35th. What did yon testify against him?
A. Well, I believe the board all believe that Mr.) McDaniel
was a rebel. I don't recollect any particular act, the board
was pretty well acquainted with Mr. McDaniel and knew of
his movements.
36th. What language did you ever hear Mr. McDaniel
use?
A. I don't remember the precise language.
37th. Did you ever hear him declare that he adhered to
those in armed rebellion or expressed a desire that they
should succeed?
A. I don't know that I ever heard him express a desire
that they should succeed, but I have heard him speak favor-
ably of the South and say he thought they would succeed.
38th. Did you ever know Mr. McDaniel to do anything
disloyal?
A. I have not.
39th. Can you remember anything proved against S. L.
Parker?
A. I don't remember; there was a witness, but I can't state
now what he-testified to.

40th. Did you disqualify anybody upon general reputa-
tion of being a rebel sympathiser?
A. Not that alone.
