I remember the evening he was before us, of his saying something which convinced the board but I have forgotten what it was. 33d. Do you remember any evidence against Wm T. King? A. I don't remember, we had some before us. 34th. Were you called on by the board to testify to any- thing against Jno McDaniel? A. I don't remember, I think I was witness against him. 35th. What did yon testify against him? A. Well, I believe the board all believe that Mr.) McDaniel was a rebel. I don't recollect any particular act, the board was pretty well acquainted with Mr. McDaniel and knew of his movements. 36th. What language did you ever hear Mr. McDaniel use? A. I don't know that I ever heard him express a desire that they should succeed, but I have heard him speak favor- ably of the South and say he thought they would succeed. 38th.
