124 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 30,
TUESDAY, January 30, 1866.
Mr. Earle submitted the following orders :
Ordered, That a committee of —— be appointed to inves-
tigate and inquire into the mutilation of the Journal of this
Body, and the abstraction, omission or suppression of a por-
tion of its proceedings on Friday (26th January), which
should have appeared on the Journal, but which are not to
be found there;
Ordered, That this Committee have power to send for per-
sons and papers, to examine witnesses on oath, and shall re-
port their proceedings to the Senate ;
Which was read.
The question upon its adoption was determined in the
negative.by yeas and nays as follow
