Maryland (89) Know all men by these presents that I Samuel: Cooper of the County of Somersett Gent. am holden and firmly stand indebted unto the Rt. Honble. Charles Lord Barton of Baltimore in the full and just sum of five thousand Seven hundred and sixty pounds of good sound Merchantable tobacco and Caske to the which payment well and truly to be made and done to the sd Lord Barron of Baltimore, his Heirs or Assigns Collector or Collectors I bind my selfe my Heirs Executors and Admrs firmly by these presents It being for and in Consideration of Severall Warrants for Land granted to severall persons in Somersett County as Wittness my hand and Seale this fourth day of October Aoq Do 1686. David Browne being brought to Court and after a full view had was adjudged to be fifteen years old, having no Indenture Hugh: Carr. a Servant Boy belonging to Thomas Dixon being brought to Court and after a full view had was adjudged to be seven years old, having no Indenture. Sarah: Morgin a Servant to Robert: Johnson, was adjudged to be eight years old being ordered to Serve till Sixteen years old and at the end of her Servitude is to have A three yeare old Heifer with Calfe. William: Mucklegeer was in Court given by his Mother to Thomas: Willis. the sd Willis is to endeavour to learne him to read, and to give him a three years old Heifer when he is fifteen years old. Andrew: Macklure a Servant Boy belonging to James: Curtiss being brought to Court and after a full view had was judged to be fourteen years old, having no Indenture. To the Worll. Court of Somersett County humbly sheweth. That your Petioner humbly moveth this Worll Court that the Orphants of William: Jones deceased may be continued upon the plantation where they now dwell with wt Estate their deceased ffather left them untill they come to age of their owne choice, as the Law in that Case directs your Petioner bound in duty to crave this of your Worships for the Children aforesd, in hopes of a grant and your Petioner shall pray &c. ---------- which Petion was Continued till next Court or till the Estate appraised Mr. William: Jones his last Will proved in Court Order letters of Admrsn. to George: Bossman who intermarryed to Jane ye Wife & Extrx. of the sd Jones decd. |
