The Court Orders mr Andrew Whittington to repair and mend all Bridges
that are within his precincts within ten dayes after date hereof March 15th. 1689/90

Claybourne: Haslewood

Somerset County Ssc. Clayburne Haslewood of Barbados Mariner was Attached to answer unto
Abraham: Knot:in an action of trespas upon the Case. And whereupon the plt Abraham Knott
by his Attorney John: Taylor Comes and sayes that in the year of our Lord. God 1688. upon the
ninth
of June in the aforesd year, that then the sd Abraham Knott did comence suite or suites against
said Haslewood in this County Court, which differences were put to the Arbitrement of mr.
Samuell
Hopkins. mr. William. Round. mr. John: Townsend, mrThomas Purnel. at the house of mr Henry:
Morgan
Pocomoke in the County aforesd, where the said Arbitraters did Award unto the sd Abraham.
Knott
wages and Clothes due from the sd Haslewood to the aforesd Knot to the value of tenn pounds
seven
teen shillings and six pence which said Sum to pay the said Claybourn Haslewood hath refused
and
still doth refuse to pay though often thereunto required by the sd Abraham Knott. whereupon the
plt
saith that he is damnified to the value of Six thousand pounds of tobacco, the tener of his Bond
which
is here produced in Court. wherein he bound the sd Haslewood to stand to the Award of the said
Arbitraters and thereupon brings his suite &c. John Taylor
