37 Charges as also that she should appear next Court to proscute the aforesd Emanuel --- --- --- --- And thereupon came Samuel Horsey, and did oblige him Selfe by recognizance The sd Horsey in the sum of ten pounds Sterling money to be leavyed on his goods and Chattells obliges himselfe for their Maties use. - - - - The Condition of wch. Recognizance is such. for Court charges that if the said Ann: Butler be of good behaviour and abearance to all their likewise their Maties Leige People of this Province, and also make her appearance at our next County Court to be holden the second tuesday in Mach next, then and theire to prosecute the aforesd Emanuel then this Recognizance to be voyd and of none Effect, otherwayes to be and remaine in full power force and vertue. - - - - Somerset County Ss. The Jurors for their Maties being Sworne upon the holy Evangelists at a Grand Jury held for the body of this County of this do present and find that Ann. Addams at The Widdow Willins house in Wiccocomocoe, hath most wickedly sinfully and shamefully Comitted fornication and borne a Basterd Childe to the dishonour of Almighty God the great Scandall and Evill Example of the good people of this Province, and against the Laws and Institutions of the Same. Their Maties Attorney Craves judgmt. may be entered against the said according to Law &c. To which foresaid Indt. the said Mar Ann Confesseth and sayeth that Henry Leyton is the ffather of her Basterd child. and humbly craves that her corporall punishment maybe remitted and a fine taken. Whereupon the Court having considered the premisses doe Order her give Security for good behaviour and Court Charges, as also fourty days worke and dyet as also that she should prosecute the said Henry Layton at our next County Court. - - - And thereupon came Patrick Berry and William: HarC and did confess them selves By way of Recognizance to be indebted unto their Maties in the sum of tenn pounds sterling to be Leavyed upon their goods and Chattells The Condicon of which said Recognizance is such that if the above said Ann. / be of good abearance and behaviour to all their Maties. The Jurors for their Maties being sworn upon the holy Evangelists at a Grand Jury held for the body of this County doe present and find that Margery Woman servant to Thomas Miller of this County sayer, hath most wickedly sinfully and Shamefully comitted fornic ation and brought a Basterd Childe, to Gods dishonour scandall and evill Example of the good people of this Province , and breach of the Laws, Therefore theire Maties Attorney Craves judgmt may be entered against the said Offender according to Law in that in that Case provided &c. James: Sangster Cl. Indt. Then came Benjamin Beards and Abraham Price and did acknowledge to the Court to be indebted by way of Recognizance unto their Maties. in five pounds a peece to be Leavyed upon their goods and Chattels. The Condicon of the said Recognizance is Such that if the above named Margery doe pay unto Court fourty dayes worke & dyet when demanded as aso Court Charges and likewise be of good behaviour to all their Maties.
