(180) October the seventh: Anno Domini 1690 = - - - - - To which time viz, the day above sd the Court was adjourned But no Sheriffe in being nor any of the Com Justices of Coram. There did this day appeare att the Court house (viz) mr. James: Dashiels. mr. James: Round. mr. Stephen: Luffe & mr Thomas: Jones. Justices But for want of a Sherriffe and one of the Justices of Coram, there could be no Court held nor no adjournment made. And therefore the Justices above named do declare to all psons present, that they came there in hopes to have mett with a Sherriffe in stead and place of of their late Sherriffe mr. Wm: Brereton who was lately deceased, as also some of the Justices of Coram, in Order to have dispatcht this Counties affairs, which for reasons above said was impeaded. And therefore did wish the County to be satisfied till November Court following It was Ordered by the Justices in September Court last past, that the Constable of Mony hundred, take the taxable Inhabitants of the divels Island into his list of Tytheables, wch Order was forthwith sent to the aforesd Constable. = And after our Burgesses was gone over the bay with the generall List of Taxable persons in this County, the aforesd Constable (viz) James:Langrell brought to the Clerks Office a List of the sd Taxable persons upon ye divels Island as followeth The true list of the divels Island Dennis:Buckey.- 1 Thomas: Roe.--- 1 John:Winsor ---- 1 John: Laws.-- William:Laws} 2 |
