August 15. 1690 (172) - - - - - - - - John ffranklen hath attended this Court as an Evidence in a Suit depending betwixt Jonathan Towers and Lawrence Crawford Eleven dayes and allowance for One day to goe home in all twelve therefore desires order for my fees &c. - - - - - - - - - - Allso John: Snow desires your worps Order for fifteen dayes attendance in the above sd Suit also one day for going home C The two parties within mentioned for their attendance have made Oath before us / Samll: Hopkins. Thomas: Jones. ------ -- Order. granted for the same To the worll. Comrs of Somerset County the Petition of Richard Chambers humbly sheweth - - - - - That whereas mr Randall Revell late of this deceased was indebted unto yor Petitioner the full and just Sum of four hundred fourty Six pounds of tobacco your petioner humbly Craves Order agt the Estate of the sd Revell and your petioner as in duty bound shall pray Rich:Chambers. Sworne to pr Richard Chambers - - - - - - Order granted for the same - - - - - - - - - - - - - - To their Majesties Worll. Justices of the peace for Somerset County the humble Petion of John:Poole Sheweth that whereas your petioner was sumoned by William:Mead to this worll. Court a wittness in his behalfe agt John:Swain, and your petioner did tend upon this worll. Court three dayes, your Petioner attended humbly craves yor worps Order of Court for yor petioners Charge, and your humble petioner shall pray Sworne to pr Poole Order granted for the Same. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - before mr Hopkins & mr Jones To the worll. their Majesties Justices of the peace for Somerset County, the humble petition of ffrancis Thorrowgood and William:White / Sheweth that there is a Certain Case depending btween mr Lawrence Crawford and your humble petioners, Craves to come to speedy tryall for these reasons following. first it is about a Cypress swamp belonging to the Children of John:White deceased and by the next Court the sd Crawford may may sell and dispose of all or most part of what timber is or may be in it, And your petitioners as In duty Shall ever pray/ Upon which petion being read / mr George Layfield promised the Court that the aforesd two hundred Acres of Swamp, he would imediately cause to be Surveyed and laid out, which till then, the Court Orders that the said Crawford make no waste nor Sail of any of any of the sd Timber thereto belonging. Jonathan Towers Plt. Somerset County Ss. Lawrence:Crawford of this County Gent was agt. Sumoned to answer unto Jonathan Towers of the same County Lawrence: Crawford. Deft Cooper in an action of the Case. - - - - - - - - - - - - And whereupon the plt by Edward Jones his Attorney comes and saith that mr Edward: White late of this County decd and predecessor to the defendt did lett a certain plantation unto the plt and at the expiration of six years the plt did remove from the said plantation and left in A tobacco house upon the said plantation Sixteen hoggsheads of tobacco of the plt, And about the last of June or the beginning of July in the year 1689. then the deft came to the aforesaid tobacco house, and then did take and put out of (the said) tobacco house the aforesaid Sixteen hoggsheads of tobacco belonging to the plt to the great losse and damage (of the said) plte wherefore the plt sayes he is damnified and hath losse to the value of tenn thousand pounds of tobacco and (thereupon) brings his suite. pr Quer Edward:Jones Issue joynd. // |
