1690 Thomas: Dixon. Plt. Agreed saith mr. Edward Jones the plts Attorney
agt -----
Peter. Bodkin Deft Maryland Somerset Ss // Peter Bodkin of this County Mercht;
- - - - - - - - - was Sumoned to answer unto Thomas Dixon of a plea
of trespass &c.
And whereupon the plt by his Attorney Edward Jones Comes and sayes that the defendant being
sometime the last year a retainder at the house of the plt gott his Woman Servant named Mary Berry
with Child to the great detriment and losse of the plt for which damages he hath and doth hitherto
deny to make any Satisfaction, not only for the fact Comitted Odious in the sight of Almighty but
to the great detryment of the plt by losse of time in her Service, being uncapable to follow to
follow her Masters commands, but also at Charges and great trouble by her lying in Midwife and
and tendance in time of travel and keeping the Child the plt saith he is damnified and hath
loss to the value of at least sixteen hundred pounds of tobacco.

Lodowick: Fleming being Sumoned an Evidence for their Maties. agt Donack Dennis
being legally called in Court, but not appearing was fined five hundred pounds of tobacco
and the sd Dennis cause continued till next Court. vide 153 fine remitted
