Adam: Hitch. 12. - - - - - - Who being retourned brings in this following Verdict (viz) Wee of the Jury find for the plt. One thousand pounds of tobacco damages with Cost of Suite. given in by Matthew: Scarbrough. foremn. ---- Which Verdict was Ordered to be entered Here followeth the true Coppie of a Bill, which the sd Taylor charged agt the sd West, to be forgery but in Open Court proved to be Contrary (viz) --- Know all men by these presents that wee Walter Machenry and Teag Riggin both of Somersett County doe acknowledge and confess our selves to owe and are indebted unto Capt. William Coulborne of the aforesd County the just sum of Seventeen hundred pounds of good sound Merchantable tobacco in Caske which wee promise to pay to the sd Coulborne or his Heirs, Execcutors Admrs or Assigns, for the which payment wee bind as our Heirs or Assigns in the penall sum of three thousand four hundred pounds of tobacco. In testimony whereof wee bind us our Heirs Execcutors Admrs and Assigns C firmly by these presents. In testimony whereof wee have hereunto sett our hands and Seales this 20th day of November 1684. his marke Sealed signed and dilivered To the vality of the abovesd Bill. Walter: M Machenry in the sight and presence of his marke John: Webb. John: Webb made Oath to Teag + Riggin Roger: Burkam in Open Court vide Evidence for West folio 12 The Court having considered the abuses and misdemeanors of the sd West John: Taylor agt the sd West and others, that they doe Order that John Taylor plead no more at Barr. Order likewise that he give security for good behaviour till next Court And whereupon Came Capt. William Coulborne and mr. Peter Dent with the sd Taylor, and did by Recognizance confess themselves to be indebted unto ? their Maties. in the sum of five pounds sterling a peece Taylor in ten pounds sterl to be leavied on their goods and chattells &c. The Condition of which recognizance is such that if the above bound John Taylor be of the good behavious to all their Maties Liege people of this Province that then this Recognzance to be voyd and of none effect, Otherwayes to remain in full power force and vertue - - - - - - - - - Then was this following accompt produced in Court and Sworne to by John: Webb.
