June 10th: 1690 (100) Appraisers appointed by the Court to appraise the Estate of mr. William Jones deceased are Thomas: Covington and John: Panter - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The Court Orders that mr Stephen: Luffe, or Coll. David: Browne Swear the sd Appaisers Mr. Thomas: Newbold and mr. George: Layfield.both Sworne in Court, their Maties Justices of Peace Order the Sheriffe impannel a Grand Jury of Sixteen men. - - - - - - - - - - - - Sarah. Leopard. daughter of Ann Leopard given to Mr James: Sangster by the Court the sd Ann being fled out of the County. the sd Sarah to remain with sd Sangster till sixteen years of age, the sd Sangster promises to learne her to read and at the expiration of her time viz when sixteen years of age to give her a yearling heifer. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - vide folio 117: Petion. The humble petion of John: Williams Senior to the Worll. Court this 10th of June 1690. Sheweth that whereas the Estate of Henry: Bishopp Junior deceased stand justly indebted unto your Petioner in the sum of sixteen hundred pounds of tobacco, as by bill under hand and seale of the said Bishop may and doth more- fully at large appear your petioner humbly craveth judgment for the sd tobacco agt the Executrs or Admrs. of the said Henrey Bishopp, and as in duty he is bound he shall ever pray &c. John: Williams: Senior. Maryland Ss/ Know all men by these presents that I Henry Bishop Junior of the County of Somersett in the Province abovesd doe acknowledge my selfe to owe and stand justly indebted unto John: Williams Senior of the abovesd County and Province in the full and just sum of and quantity of five thousand five hundred pounds of good sound Merchanble tobacco in Caske to be paid Conveniently on Pocomoke River according to Act of Assembly betwixt the day of the date of these presents and the tenth day of November next ensueing, the which payment well and truly to be made I bind my selfe my Heirs, Executrs Admrs firmly by these presents to the sd John: Williams Senior, his Heirs Executors Admrs or Assigns, without fraud or Coven It being for a valuable in Consideration of one Negro woman Named Occo in Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and affixed my Seal this 14th. day of Septer.Anno Domy 1689. John: Williams Senior makes Oath to the abovesd Bill, and that there is justly due and oweing to him out of the sd Bill Sixteen hundred pounds of tobacco. Whereupon the Worll. Court Orders the Admr of the sd.- Estate (viz) Devorah. Drigors to pay to the sd Williams sixteen hundred pounds of tobacco Mr. James: Sangster makes Oath that the Estate of Henry Bishop, was and is, justly indebted to three hundred pounds of tobacco. Order granted that the Admr of Bishops Estate pay ye sd Sangster three hundred pounds tobacco To the Worll. Comrs of Somersett County the petion of Isaac: Horsey humbly sheweth. That whereas Randall Revell late of this County deceased was indebted unto your Petioner. the full and just Sum of four hundred and twenty pounds of tobacco as pr accot. here produced in Court, your Petioner humbly craves Order agt the Estate of the sd Revell and your petioner as in duty bound shall pray. Isaac: Horsy In the year 1686. Randall Revell Senior Dr To the making of one and twenty tobacco hds at 80 pr tunn. C 420 Order granted that the Admr of the sd decd Revell pay the above sd Sum of four hundred twenty pounds of tobacco to the sd Horsey. |
