So it was resolved in the affirmative.
On motion, the question was put, That the house reconsider the said report?  Resolved in the
affirmative.
On motion, the question was put, That the house concur with the following clause in the said
report:
" The committee to whom was referred the petition of William Handy, of Worcester county,
report, that they have taken the same into consideration, and are of opinion, from the facts disclosed
to your committee, that the petitioner has been grossly injured in his person and property by some of
the citizens of Pennsylvania, but inasmuch as the federal judicatures are open to the citizens of the
United States indiscriminately, and competent to redress all the injuries he may have sustained, your
committee conceive it would be improper for the legislature to interfere and become a party on
behalf of the petitioner."

So it was resolved in the affirmative.
On motion, the question was put on the following, to wit:  On the second reading the report on
the petition of William Handy, RESOLVED, That it is the opinion of this house, that it would be
proper to make a loan to the petitioner, adequate to the purposes of prosecuting a suit for the redress
of the injuries he has sustained from some of the citizens of Pennsylvania.  The yeas and nays being
required, appeared as follow:

So it was determined in the negative.
Mr. Robins, from the committe, brings in and delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of sundry inhabitants of Baltimore county,
praying that a law might pass authorising commissioners to survey, and alter if necessary, the direction
of the road leading from Baltimore-town over Cromwells' bridge to Getting's mill, and to
erect a stone bridge over the main falls of Gunpowder, having considered the same, together with
the counter petition thereto, report, that from the facts disclosed to your committee, there appears to
be a considerable diversity of sentiment among the proprietors of the lands adjacent to the said road,
and other inhabitants of Baltimore county, as to the beneficial effects to be expected from a change
in the said road, and your committee are of opinion that there exists competent power in the levy
court of Baltimore county to carry into effect the prayer of the said petition, if consistent with the
general interest of the inhabitants of that county; your committee are therefore of opinion that the
prayer of the said petitioners ought not to be granted.  All which is submitted.
                                                            By order,                                    J.  HARWOOD, clk.
Which was read.
Mr. Chapman, from the committee, brings in and delivers to the speaker the following report:
THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Frederick Green, printer to the state,
report, that they have examined into the subject matter of the said petition, and are of opinion that
so much thereof as respects the application to the legislature for purchasing of types could not with
propriety be granted, but your committee are of opinion that the same reasons exist for the augmentation
