Mr. Chapman, Mr. Worthington and Mr. Duckett, be a committee to prepare and bring in the
same.
    The bill to repeal the thirty-third section of the act therein mentioned, was read the second time,
and passed.
    A petition from Robert Haddaway, of Talbot county, praying the treasurer of the western shore
may be directed to refund forty-eight pounds eleven shillings and three pence current money, paid as 
caution on 192 1/2 acres of land, which was proclamated, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr.
Lamdin, Mr. Robins and Mr. Harwood, to consider and report thereon.
    On motion, ORDERED, That Mr. Quynn be added to the committee on the representation of
Frederick Green.
    A petition from George Vánsant Mann, of Queen-Anne's county, praying to be released from
the interest decreed by the chancellor on a bond to William Rasin, for certain land purchased by
him of the said Rasin, as security of Thomas Boyer, late sheriff and collector of Kent county, was
preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Spencer, Mr. Butcher and Mr. C. Frazier, to consider and
report thereon.
    On the second reading of the report on the petition of August Buard, ORDERED, That the
same be postponed.
    Mr. Harwood, from the committee, brings in and delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Robert Haddaway, of Talbot county,
report, that they find the facts therein stated to be true, and are of opinion the prayer thereof ought 
to be granted, and beg leave to submit to the house the following resolution:
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore refund unto Robert Haddaway the sum of
forty-eight pounds eleven shillings and three-pence current money, which sum the said Robert has,
through mistake, paid into the treasury as the composition money on a survey made by the said
Robert, and which has since been proclamated.
    All which is submitted to the house.

Which was read the first and second time, and the resolution therein contained assented to.
    Mr. Brother, from the committee, brings in and delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled, An act
for the relief of Lucy Jennings, widow and devisee of Richard Jennings, late of Frederick county,
deceased; which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    Mr. Quynn, junior, from the committee, brings in and delivers to the speaker a bill, entitled,
An act for the benefit of Eleanor Shuman, widow of Peter Shuman, and her children; which was
read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.
    The report on the petition of sundry inhabitants of Baltimore county was read the second time
concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant thereto.  ORDERED, That Mr. Carroll,
Mr. Worthington and Mr. Merryman, be a committee to prepare and bring in the same.

The house adjourns till Monday morning 9 o'clock.

M    O    N    D    A    Y,    November 28, 1796.

    THE house met.  Present the same members as on Saturday.  The proceedings of Saturday
were read.
    A petition from sundry inhabitants of Washington county, praying an act may pass for erecting a
poor-house in said county, was preferred, read, and referred to Mr. Cellar, Mr. Bowles and Mr.
Douglass, to consider and report thereon.
    On motion, ORDERED, That the hearing of the petition of Christopher Hughes, and others,
respecting the extension of Light-street across the bason of Baltimore-town, and the counter petition
thereto, be postponed till Monday the fifth day of December next, and that the petitioners cause
immediate notice thereof to be given to the counter petitioners.
    Mr. THomas Boone, a delegate returned for Caroline county, appeared, and after qualifying in 
the mode prescribed by the constitution and form of government, and taking the oath to support the
constitution of the United States, took his seat in the house.
    Mr. Chapman, from the committee, brings in and delivers to the speaker the following
report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of Jane Lindsay, of Charles county, report,
that they have taken the same under their consideration, and believing in the existence of the facts
stated in said petition, are of opinion that the prayer of the petitioner is reasonable, and that a law
ought to pass conformably thereto.  All which is submitted to the house.

    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant
thereto.  ORDERED, That Mr. Chapman, Mr. Campbell and Mr. Hollingsworth, be a 
committee to prepare and bring in the same.
    A petition from Jacob Fowle, of Talbot county, praying an act of insolvency, was preferred,
read, and referred to the committee appointed on petitions of a similar nature.
    On motion, the question was put, That leave be given to bring in a bill to repeal such parts of
the constitution and form of government of this state as relate to the council to the governor?  The
yeas and nays being required, appeared as follow:
