Amendment proposed. At the end of the bill
add " This act to continue and be in force until P O S T M E R I D I E M. M O N D A Y, December 26, 1796. THE senate met. Present the same members as
on Saturday. The proceedings of Saturday pay to Samuel Peterson Wallace, of Cæcil county, twenty-six pounds five shillings and six-pence, being for caution and improvement money paid to the treasurer on a tract of land in said county called Minor's Lot, which land is found to be in Talbot's manor. By order, W. HARWOOD, clk. Which was read the first time and ordered to lie on the table. The clerk of the house of delegates delivers to the clerk of the senate the following message: WE are disposed to terminate the present session as early as it is practicable to act on the public business now before us. We hope it may be affected on Thursday, and we beg leave to suggest, that your acting on the bill for the per diem allowance, by enabling the committee of claims to close the journal of accounts, will greatly accelerate that desirable object. By order, W. HARWOOD, clk. Which was read. P O S T M E R I D I E M. The bill, entitled, An act to ascertain the allowance of the members of the general assembly, electors of senate, and electors of president and vice-president of the United States, was read the second time and will pass, and was sent to the house of delegates by the clerk. On motion, ORDERED, That the order of this day be postponed until to-morrow. The resolution in favour of Robert Ramsey was read the second time and assented to. The clerk of the house of delegates delivers to the clerk of the senate a bill, entitled, An act to erect Baltimore-town, in Baltimore county, into a city, and to incorporate the inhabitants thereof, thus endorsed; " By the house of delegates, December 3, 1796: Read the first time and ordered to " lie on the table. " By order, W. HARWOOD, clk. " By the house of delegates, December 26, 1796: Read the second time and will pass. " By order, W. HARWOOD, clk."
