word "staves" strike out the words " six and a quarter," and insert " not exceeding twenty."
In the 9th line of the same page, after the word "heading" strike out the word "four"
and insert the words " twelve and a half."  In the 10th line of the same page strike out
the word "three" and insert the word "five."  In the 11th line of the same page strike out the
words " twelve and a half" and insert the words "twenty-five."  In the 14th line of the same
page, after the word "shingles" strike out the word "two," and insert the word "three."  In
the 2d line of the 18th page strike out the word "which" and insert as follows:  " And that the
said rates, under the limitation aforesaid, shall be collected at such places, and in such proportions
at the said respective places, as the president and directors of teh said company, or a majority of
them, may from time to time determine, and that the said."  In the same line strike out the words
" are to."  In the 2d line of the 19th page strike out the word "twenty" and insert the word

    Which were read the first and second time, agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
And the supplement to the act, entitled, An act to erect a town in Queen-Anne's county, endorsed;

the word "on."  In the same line, after the word " commissioners" insert as follows:  " Provided
the consent of the proprietor or proprietors of the said place be first had and obtained."  In the 9th
line of the 6th page, after the word "aforesaid" insert the words " or on any other days."  In the 10th
line of the 7th page, after the word "affirmation" insert the words " as the case may be."  In the
2d line of the 10th page, after the word "affirmation" insert the words " as the case may be."  In
teh 7th line of the same page, after the words " eight feet in" strike out the word "breadth," and
insert the word "length."  In the same line, after the words " four feet in" strike out the words
" length from kerf to kerf," and insert the word "width."  At the end of the 6th line of the 11th
page insert the word "goose."  In the 7th line of the same page, after the word "any" insert the

    Which were read the first and second time, agreed to, and the bill ordered to be engrossed.
    The bill respecting two tracts of land lying in Allegany county, the one called Grassy Cabbin, the
other called The Desert, was read the second time, passed, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The supplement to the act, entitled, An act to improve and repair the streets in Frederick-town,
in Frederick county, and for other purposes therein mentioned, was read the second time, passed,
and sent to teh senate by the clerk.
    RESOLVED, That John Patterson, James Steele, James Nesbett, Daniel Norris, Hugh Lyon
and John Sterett, and each of them, be allowed to pay and discharge each of their respective bonds,
given to the agent of this state for the purchase of a tract of land called the Widow's Lot, in Cæcil
county, in three payments, as follows:  One third of the principal and the whole of the interest of
each of their respective bonds to be paid on or before the first day of November, seventeen hundred
and ninety-seven, one other third of the principal and the whole of the interest of the remaining two
thirds to be paid on or before the first day of November, one thousand seven hundred and ninety-eight,
and the remaining one third, with the interest thereon, to be paid on or before the first day of
November, seventeen hundred and ninety-nine.
    Mr. Montgomery, from teh committee, brings in and delivers to the speaker the following report:
    THE committee to whom was referred the petition of John McComas, report, that they have
taken the same under their consideration, and are of opinion that leave ought to be given to bring in
an additional supplement to an act, entitled, An act to streighten and amend the post road from Havre-de-Grace
to Baltimore-town, for the purpose of carrying into complete effect the important design
contemplated in the original act, and thereby make an effectual provision for the payment of damages
sustained by all persons through whose property the said road has been laid out, and also to fill up the
vacancies occasioned by the death of two commissioners therein named.  All which is submitted.
                                                By order,                                      J.  HARWOOD, clk.
    Which was read the first and second time, concurred with, and leave given to bring in a bill pursuant
thereto.  ORDERED, That Mr. Montgomery, Mr. Prall and Mr. Jarrett, be a committee
to prepare and bring in the same.

The house adjourns till Monday morning 9 o'clock.

M    O    N    D    A    Y,    December 19, 1796.

    THE house met.  Present the same members as on Saturday.  The proceedings of Saturday
were read.
